Hugh Linwood Hynson

Hugh Linwood Hynson, age 92, of Warsaw, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012. Mr. Hynson was a member of Cobham Park Baptist Church. He was a waterman, carpenter and farmer, but spent much of his time operating Hynson’s Store at Nomini Grove. In his earlier years he was the pitcher and second baseman for the Chesapeake League of Warsaw and Heathsville, and he was a ticket taker for the Warsaw Movie Theater.

Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Agnes D. Hynson of Warsaw; a son, Jeffrey L. Hynson of Warsaw; a daughter, Jennifer H. Wilkins and husband, Raymond, of Montross; two grandchildren, Stephanie L. Wilkins (Tommy) and Susan W. Ashton; three great-grandchildren, Brianna R. Ashton, Brian R. Ashton, Jr., and Emma G. Wilkins; a sister, Barbara H. Brown of Warsaw, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Cobham Park Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Donald Bowen officiated. Pallbearers were Dickie Brooks, Stanley Mothershead, Jimmy Sanders, C.W. Gibbs, Randy Phelps, and Marty Mothershead. Memorial contributions may be made to Richmond County Emergency Services, P. O.
