The Colonial Beach Boys Basketball Team (3-0) is off to a three game winning streak to open the regular season.
“I’m really proud of them on how they have come out and played defense and the way they moved the ball on offense,” said Colonial Beach Coach Jonathan Parker. “I’m a tough coach and the one thing I like about this team is that they respond. We have a tough schedule ahead and I’m just proud of them this past week.”
Colonial Beach Drifters
On their season opener on the road, Colonial Beach defeated Middlesex in overtime 67-62 led by Montie Gould’s double-double with 41 points (13 of 18 free throws) and 11 rebounds. Keane Foster followed with 11 points and Shamar Shanks scored five points. Ethan Harvin and Paris Muse scored four points each, and Jaquan Lancaster added two points.
In their first game at home, the Drifters defeated King & Queen 65-48. Gould and Foster lead the way for Colonial Beach as Gould ended the night with 22 points and nine rebounds, and Foster had 12 points.
Sidney Horton chipped in with five points, DezJohn Parker had three, Harvin with eight, Muse with seven, Shanks with four, and Devonte Harris and Lancaster each with two points.

Three wins down, long road ahead for ladies
The girls’ basketball team from Colonial Beach is off to 3-0 start in the first week of the season. This comes after wins over King & Queen, Washington & Lee and Middlesex.
Colonial Beach’s McKenzie Conway (above) and the Lady Drifters have won their first three games of the season.
“After first week I am always pleased with the win, but we have a long way to go,” said Colonial Beach coach Keith Dickerson.
In their season opener against Middlesex, Colonial Beach defeated the Lady Chargers 69-47.
Caneishia Fulcher led the team had 14 points and seven rebounds, and Deniya Newman added 13 points and rebounds.
McKenzie Conway and Billie Gould chipped in with 12 points each, followed by Emily Parks with five, Karley Inscoe with six, Megan Seaman with six and Kaytlin Profitt with one.
On the road, Colonial Beach knocked down King & Queen 43-13 followed by another high scoring performance by Fulcher with 14.
Conway followed with eight points, Gould with four, Graves with two, Newman and Parks each with two and Megan Seamen with 11.
