Gayle Maxine Hoffberger-Briggs
Gayle Maxine Hoffberger-Briggs, 55, of King George, Virginia, died in her sleep Saturday, December 22, 2012.
Gayle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her husband Douglas Briggs, sons Zachary Fissette and Allen Tate, mother Carolyn Kelly, siblings Margaret Edwards, Lora Kimbrough, Dickie Wood, Chris Kelly, and her grand children Anabelle, Donald, and Helen.
Gayle was loved dearly by her family and friends, and will be sorely missed. She was a very caring person, and enjoyed giving as much of herself to others as possible. She also enjoyed traveling, being a homemaker, and spending time with friends and family. Gayle earned her Associates Degree in Graphic Arts and worked primarily in the Desktop Publishing field in spite of her disabilities.
No arrangements for a memorial service have been made at this time.
Charles Donald Crabbe
Charles Donald Crabbe, 63, of Colonial Beach, died on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012.
Mr. Crabbe was a self-employed contractor.
He is survived by seven sons, Charles, George, Gene, Patrick, Bernard, Norman and Bobby; daughter, Theresa; 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 28 at the Welch Funeral Home, Montross Chapel.

Elizabeth JoAnne Lally Castro Maine
Elizabeth “Betty” Maine died on December 22, 2012, at the age of 76 at her home in Colonial Beach, VA.
She was born February 11, 1936, in Washington, D.C. She spent most of her life in Virginia where she worked and raised her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dr. Charles Andrew Lally and Mary Florence Scales Lally.
She is survived by her two brothers, Charles “Buddy” (Alita) Lally of Alexandria, VA and William “Bill” (Kathy) Lally in California. She leaves her children Charles Raymond Castro in Clearwater, FL, William “Bill” James Castro in Woodbridge, VA, Kelley Ann Castro (Gregory) Floberg in La Plata, MD, and Carl Clayton (Lisa) Maine in Gainesville, VA. In addition, she leaves six grandchildren: Chad Castro (FL), Ryan and Kelsey Floberg (MD), and Jacob, Caden and Michael Maine (VA), along with many close friends.
A gathering of family and friends met at the Riverboat in Colonial Beach to remember and celebrate Betty’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Virginia or the American Cancer Society.
