W&L Boys’ team in a bit of drama
As the regular season begins to wind down, the Washington & Lee High School Boys’ Basketball team remains in the hunt to reach the playoffs. But last week’s results forced a bit of a three-way tie with Northumberland and Essex heading into the final week of the season.

In their final head-to-head game during the regular season against Rappahannock, W&L came out on top winning their third straight game this season. In the final regular season game, W&L defeated Rappahannock 79-61 led by Jeremy Turner with 21 points. Rappahannock’s Tevin Fisher led his team with 20.
W&L’s Trey Brown chipped in with 14 followed by Milan Bullock with 10, AJ Turner with nine, Davon Hamilton and Dwayne Cherry with seven each, Kwame Gray and CJ Harris with four each, Terrin Dickerson with two and Damien Henry with one.
Rappahannock’s Michael Gaines chipped in with 19 points followed by Kelvonte Ellis with 12, JaQuan Thompson and DeShawn Thompson with three each, and Andre Brown and Marcus Byrd with two each.
In the 55-39 win for Lancaster, Tyler Colding scored 18 points followed by Washington & Lee’s top scorer Kwame Gray with 14.
Lancaster’s Ricky Gibson chipped in with 13 followed by Trevon Taylor with eight, Taj Smith and Devante Stewart with five each, and Keondra Owens with two.
W&L’s Trey Brown helped his team with seven points, followed by Jeremy Turner with six, Terrin Dickerson with four, and Davon Hamilton, Milan Bullock, CJ Harris and AJ Turner with two each.
