The Colonial Beach Historical Society monthly meeting in the Cooper Memorial Library, 7 p.m. The main topic will be the opening of the Museum scheduled for Saturday, April 13th and the new exhibit. Open to the public. Also under discussion will be the upcoming “Big Band Dance” and the annual Historical Society membership meeting scheduled for Saturday, May 4.
Saturday, April 20
Friends of the Rappahannock is having it’s Annual Tidal Spring Clean-up on from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers meet at June Parker Marina in Tappahannock. Volunteers will be divided into groups and shuttled by boat or car to specified locations along the Essex and Richmond County riverbanks. Afterwards, all volunteers will come back to FOR’s office for a cookout lunch! Spend your Saturday on the water and showing stewardship at the same time! Registration is necessary to ensure sufficient supplies and for contacting participants in case of weather-related changes. Contact Lowery Pemberton at 443-3448 or register online at www.riverfriends.org/tidalcleanup by April 18th. FOR will provide gloves, trash bags, trash pickers, water and lunch. Sunscreen and bug spray will also be available. Please wear clothes that can get dirty and wet and closed-toe shoes.

Strawberry Shortcake Festival in Kinsale. Get in touch with Sharon Beninghove (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are a vendor or crafter or artist who would like to participate please. This is a major fund-raiser for the firemen and will stretch from the Firehouse to Gray Barn Antiques to the park.
