Arrests provide answers to multiple burglaries

Local law enforcement got the drop on two suspects in connection with robberies at a well known church and store in Westmoreland last week. On March 26, Montross residents Michael R. Bradshaw, 21, and Sherdrick B. Covert Jr, 22, were arrested and charged each with two counts of breaking and entering Mexicana II Grocery Store and Mariachi early that morning.
This comes a few weeks after two robberies at Grant’s Hill Baptist Church and one at the Three Sisters Store. A small collection of money, alcohol and cigarettes were taken from the store, while a television and safe were obtained from the church.
Sheriff C.O. Balderson, of the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office, said on Monday both these cases are connected and charges are forthcoming. The two were not granted any bond and they currently await appearance incourt.
