Local Diamond rides for benefit in Face of America
A pitcher from the East Coast Diamonds and her family will be competing in an upcoming long distance ride to honor military personnel.
On April 26, the Nalls family began the Face of America two day 110-mile ride beginning from the Pentagon near Washington, D.C. to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. According to World Team Sports, each ride honors our military—veterans and active duty, both disabled and able-bodied—and celebrates the American Spirit.
“Face of America is definitely the most heartwarming and eye opening event that I have ever participated in,” said Savannah Nalls, pitcher for the East Coast Diamonds. “I’m so thankful to be a part of this experience and honored to be riding for the people that risked their lives for this beautiful country.”
Savannah will be joined by her mother, Wendy Nalls, for their seventh year.
“This is our family’s seventh year participating in this event,” said Wendy Nalls. “My husband has done this event for the past six years and is unable to do it this year. This will be a mother and daughter team which is our third year participating.
Donations will be accepted by World Team Sports through May 26. For more information or to sponsors, visit www.nallsfaceofamerica2013.shutterfly.com
Savannah is a pitcher on the 16U East Coast Diamonds Travel Ball Team consisting of players from Richmond, Essex, Northumberland, Westmoreland, Mathews and King George Counties.
