The Washington & Lee High School Cross Country team will be hosting a 5K & 1 mile race at George Washington’s Birthplace National Monument on Saturday, May 18 at 8 a.m. The race will promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle and will raise money & awareness for the W&L Cross Country team. Pre-registration fee for the 5k is 10$. Fee for the day of registration is $15. The registration fee for the 1-mile is $5. Awards will be given to the top 10 males and females in the 5k. All participants in the 1-mile run will receive an award. Registration forms are available at http://wlathletics.wmlcps.org/. The registration forms can be mailed to Cole Vanover at Washington & Lee High School at 16380 Kings Highway Montross, VA 22520.

 

On June 29, the second annual Fourth of July 5K will be held at in front of the old Westmoreland Courthouse at 15803 Kings Highway in Montross. The Quinton Oaks Ladies League welcomes women golfers for the 2013 season. The league accommodates golfers of all skill levels by utilizing handicaps for placement on one of two flights.  Additionally, there are a number of enjoyable games throughout the season that allow ladies of any ability to win.  To add a little fun, we also host several parties throughout the year to celebrate our camaraderie.
