Local student awarded major scholarship to UVA

Megan Nicole Daiger, a recent graduate from Washington and Lee High School and the Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School, has been awarded a four-year scholarship worth $24,000 through the Fary Memorial Scholarship Fund.  She will attend the University of Virginia and plans to study Linguistics and pursue Pre-Law.  Megan is the daughter of Gary and Ruth Daiger of Colonial Beach
The Thomas Peterson and Alvin Jenettie Roane Fary Memorial Scholarship is a highly competitive scholarship available to students from 16 counties in eastern Virginia.  For more information about the scholarship, visit
