Wednesday, July 17
Master Craftsman Bill Jenkins of Locust Farm Windsors – maker of chairs, settees & stools – is the featured local artist at the July 17 to August 17 Westmoreland County Museum’s Art and Wine event. Meet the artist on Wednesday, July 17 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. during the opening reception. Hosted by the Westmoreland County Museum & the Inn at Montross. Mr. Jenkins will provide a live illustration of his craftsmanship at the Museum from 5-6 p.m. followed by a discussion on the design and construction of Windsor chairs. Mr. Jenkins’ Windsor chairs will be on display at the Museum through August 17.

At 9:30 a.m., the Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Society will hold the dedication ceremony of an historical roadside marker in front of Nomini Episcopal Church on VA. Rt. 202/Cople Highway at the Nomini Creek bridge near Mount Holly.
The US Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering a paddle sport safety class, 9 a.m. at Belle Isle State Park. Classroom instruction followed by on-the-water hands-on training. Register with Belle Isle State Park. Course fee is $10. Children must be at least 12 years old to participate.
