Vietnam worker to visits Good Shepherd Baptist
The community is invited to Sunday activities that will focus on current Lutheran sponsored community development projects in Vietnam, to be held Sunday, Aug. 11, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, located two miles west of Callao, on Rte. 202.
Pastor “J.P.” Cima, a native of Richmond who is home on a brief leave, will present the programs. On Aug. 11, there will be a Sunday worship service at 9 am; an internationally focused Bible class at 10:30 a.m. and a Pot Luck Lunch at Noon with a presentation describing community development projects in Vietnam. A love offering for his Vietnam work will be received.
Pastor Cima serves in northern Vietnam, where the LCMS has carried out human care and education projects for over 17 years. Pastor Cima works in the Hanoi area and with local partners at the Vietnam Nutrition Association in developing and implementing community development projects in the rural villages of Vietnam. He also facilitates and oversees short-term personnel who teach English as a foreign language (EFL) in universities in and around Hanoi, as well as short-term service teams from the United States and Asia.
Families welcome! Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish, or salad & dessert to share for the Pot Luck Lunch. The Good Shepherd Family provides regular support to Pastor Cima’s work and looks forward to hearing the latest reports.
