Nov. 12

Volleyball: William Campbell at #1 Northumberland def. #8 William Campbell 3-0, #6 West Point def. #4 Appomattox Regional Governor’s School 3-1, and #2 Altavista def. #7 Rappahannock County 3-0. Winners advance to Region 1A East Semifinals Nov. 16.

 

Nov. 13

Volleyball: #3 Mathews def. #5 Northampton (no score reported), advances to Region 1A East Semifinals Nov. 16.

 

Nov. 15

Football: #4 Central Lunenburg def. #13 Lancaster 49-21. Lancaster ends the season at 4-7.

Football: #5 Washington & Lee def. #12 Middlesex 49-0, improves to 7-4 on the season.

Football: #6 Rappahannock (Warsaw) def. #11 Colonial Beach 21-8, improves to 7-4 on the season. Colonial Beach ends season at 5-6, 3-2 in the district.

Football: #2 Altavista def. #15 Northumberland 62-18. Northumberland season ends at 3-8.

Football: #1 Essex def. #16 Cumberland 56-0, improves to 10-1 on the season.

 

Nov. 16

Cross Country: Group 1A State Championships at Great Meadow in the Plains on Nov. 16. Girls at 1 p.m. followed by the boys at 1:45 p.m.

Volleyball: Region 1A Semifinals #1 Northumberland def. #6 West Point 3-0, #2 Altavista def. #3 Mathews at Northumberland, 3-0. Altavista went on to win the Region 1A East Championship over Northumberland, 3-2. Both qualify for the Group 1A State Championship on Nov. 22.

 

Nov. 22

Volleyball: Northumberland vs. Auburn 1 p.m. and Altavista vs. Galax 11 a.m. at the Siegel Center on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. Winners advance to the championship on Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Siegel Center.

Football: #9 Parry McCluer at #1 Essex, winner advances to 1A Eastern Sectional Semifinals Nov. 29

Football: #6 Rappahannock (Warsaw) at #3 Franklin, winner advances to 1A Eastern Sectional Semifinals Nov. 29

Football: #5 Washington & Lee at #4 Central Lunenburg, winner advances to 1A Eastern Sectional Semifinals Nov. 29

The First Annual Gobble Wobble 5K Walk/Run will be held at the Westmoreland State Park on 145 Cliff Road in Montross Nov. 23 beginning at 9 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Friends of Westmoreland State Park. Register at www.active.com and search keywords: Gobble Wobble Montross

 

Annual Turkey Day 10K will be held on the boardwalk in the Town of Colonial Beach beginning at 8 a.m. Racers will meet at the Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department on Colonial Avenue. The Northumberland High School Athletic Booster Club is currently accepting applications for membership for the 2012-2013 season. This year the Boosters are offering 10 different membership options, in hopes to accommodate a wide range of students, parents and community members. All those interested in joining or renewing their membership for the 2013-2014 season should contact Michael Stevenson (mstevenson1@nucps.net) at Northumberland High School.

 

The Rappahannock Raiders Booster Club is currently accepting applications for membership for the 2013-2014 season. The Boosters are offering a variety of different membership options (at reduced rates if purchased prior to June 30, 2013) in hopes of accommodating a wide range of students, parents, and community members. All those interested in joining for the 2013-2014 season should contact Jan Tatarka (jtatarka@richmond-county.k12.va.us) at Rappahannock High School
