Styer takes assistant helm at Washington District Elementary
Dan Styer, newly appointed Assistant Principal at Washington District Elementary School, grew up in Pennsylvania, in the small town of Barto where he attended and graduated from Boyertown Area Senior High. Styer graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education and English. He also graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a Master of Science degree in Education for Educational Leadership.
Styer began his work in education as a tutor and SAT program coordinator at a Huntington Learning Center before obtaining a position in King George County Schools as the English 12, Journalism and Photojournalism teacher. At King George High School, he also sponsored the yearbook and newspaper student publications, edited the school newsletter, and held duties under the additional title of Administrative Intern/Academic Dean.
As an administrator at the high school, Styer worked on discipline referrals with students, parents and staff, helped create the positive referral system, functioned as the summer school administrator and co-led the new teacher mentor program.
