The Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Society will present the “John Paul Hanbury Award” to the Inn At Montross, 21 Polk Street in Montross, at 11:30 AM. The award recognizes outstanding restoration/renovation to an historical property on the Northern Neck. The ceremony is open to the public. The Inn will offer a special luncheon of historical fare immediately following the ceremony. Reservations are required. Call (804) 493-8624). $
The Westmoreland County Republicans will hold a mass meeting at 1 p.m. (registration beginning at noon) in the District Courtroom, George D. English building, Montross, to elect Delegates for the May 17-18, 2013 Republican Convention to elect the Commonwealth’s Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General. Pre-filing forms for delegates must be delivered to F.C. Dugan III, 1740 Wilton Rd, Hague, no later than 5 p.m. March 13.
The Westmoreland County Committee of the Republican Party will hold a meeting at the District Courtroom, George D. English Building, 111 Polk Street, Montross, Virginia 22570, at 1 p.m., registration starting at 12 p.m., local time on Saturday, March 16.
The Mighty Spiritual Lights Pre-Anniversary will be held at First Baptist Church, 619 Jackson St., Colonial Beach. Musical guest are: Young Sisters in Christ, Burkett Lyburn and All Together, Nate and New Generation, Sensational Singing Angels, The Mighty Gospel Melodies and Eric McKenzie and the Hi Lite Juniors from Patterson, N.J. Free will offering. All are welcome.
Ephesus Christian Church will hold a St. Patrick’s Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner, this Saturday evening beginning at 6 p.m. The church is located at 364 Horner’s Mill Rd., Foneswood.
First Baptist Church, Colonial Beach will observe “Annual Women’s Day” in observance of Women’s History Month on Sunday, March 17 at 1030 a.m. with Minister Carolyn Fisher of Jerusalem Baptist Church, Oldhams as guest preacher. Women are asked to wear Red.
Beulah Baptist Church will have their annual Men’s Day at 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be Pastor Darryl Fisher accompanied by his chorus and congregation.
The Ushers of Siloam Baptist Church in Montross will celebrate their Annual Ushers Day at 4 p.m. Guest minister will be Pastor Earl T. Howerton Jr. of Little Zion Baptist Church, Oak Grove. Guest ushers please come in uniform and prepare to give an echo. All are invited.
Cobham Park Baptist Church will host gospel singer Ivan Parker in concert at the Richmond County Elementary School at 6 p.m.
