The Montross Community will sponsor an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 12 noon until 6 p.m. at the Montross Volunteer Rescue Squad Building on Lyells Street. The Red Cross especially needs donors with O negative, B negative, and A negative blood types. Please have valid ID, eat a good meal, and drink plenty of water.
The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association Northern Neck Chapter 1823 will meet on Tuesday, March 5, at 1 p.m., at Wicomico Episcopal Church on Route 200 in Wicomico Church. The meeting will begin with a soup and sandwich lunch. Attendees are requested to bring a sandwich; soup will be provided. After lunch, Ted Munns will present “Flora of the Coastal Plains for Honey Bees.” The NARFE Chapter 1823 executive board will meet at noon. For additional information, call 804.580.8666.
“Hiking with Your Dog” at Belle Isle State Park at 10 a.m. The program will cover what to bring with your dog, basic canine first aid, and how to make your dog welcome on area trails. The program begins at the Canoe Launch area and will include a hike by a marsh and through the woods. Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome to attend.
