Posted on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 9:51 am

Organizers and postal workers in Colonial Beach are now collecting canned goods and non-perishables for the Annual National Letter Carriers Food Drive, Saturday, May 11. It is an effort to stock the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank, which services these areas. They are joined by Post Offices from King George and the Fredericksburg area.
This Saturday, May 11, please place your canned goods and NON-perishable food items, (PLEASE no glass) in a bag, near or on your mailbox and a Postal Carrier will pick them up. You may also drop off your food items at the Colonial Beach Post Office. If you prefer to make a monetary donation, you can leave a check at the Colonial Beach Post office payable to the FAFB (Fredericksburg Area Food Bank)- $10 will purchase 40 pounds of food. Your contribution, of any size, will be very much appreciated by those in need. Sponsors include the  National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), National Rural Letter Carrier Association (NRLCA), U.S.P.S., Campbell’s Soup, and many more.
