At a recent membership meeting, the Cabin Point Civic Association (CPCA) elected to donate $750 worth of various supplies to Cople Elementary school. The action was a spinoff of an annual campaign sponsored by Jane Herron, a former teacher. Mrs. Herron solicits school supply donations from both Glebe Harbor and Cabin Point every year, and this year, the CPCA was able to provide a substantial amount and variety of items to meet the school’s needs. Janice Fletcher and Barbara Cupples of the CPCA met with the Cople Elementary principal and decided upon the items to be provided.
The variety included: spiral notebooks, broad tip markers, glue sticks, composition notebooks, fine tip markers, Fun tak display tabs, loose leaf paper, dry erase markers, pencil-top erasers. construction paper, pencils, Post-it notes, 30 boxes of tissues, 50 bottles of hand sanitizer, 24 containers of Clorox wipes, 12 boxes each of sandwich size zip-lock and gallon size zip-lock bags.
Marion Dongieux, on behalf of the CPCA Board of Directors said, “The generosity of the people of Cabin Point and Glebe Harbor is a testament to the spirit of educational support within the communities.”
