Drifters remain in control of district
In the Colonial Beach 75-54 win over Rappahannock, Montie Gould scored 22 points and collected 12 rebounds to help lead the team to their second head-to-head win against the Raiders. Rappahannock’s Kelvonte Ellis scored team high 19 points.
Keane Foster helped Colonial Beach, scoring 15 points followed by Shamar Shanks with nine, Paris Muse with seven, Marquel Harris with six, Ethan Harvin and Kamron Smith with five each, and Devonte Harris, Sidney Horton and Mike McGorda with two each.
Rappahannock’s Marcus Byrd chipped in with 14, Tevin Fisher 11, Kilvante Newton with four, Eamonn Collins with three, Howard Plummer with two and JaQuan Thompson with one.
In the non-district 62-51 win over the Franklin Broncos, Colonial Beach’s Keane Foster and Shamar Shanks scored 14 points each.
Mike McGorda chipped in with 10 points followed by Paris Muse and Marquel Harris with six each, Sidney Horton with five, and David Allison Devonte Harris and Kamron Smith with two each, and L.J. West with one.
In the 53-45 loss to Lancaster, Montie Gould knocked down 17 points. Leading the game was Lancaster’s Tyler Colding with 25 points.
Colonial Beach’s Paris Muse scored 11 points followed by Keane Foster with 10, Sidney Horton with four, Shamar Shanks with two and Ethan Harvin with one.
Lancaster’s Taj Smith chipped in with eight points followed by Tykwon Redmond with six, Trevon Taylor with four, and Kedrick Lee and Ricky Gibson with two.
Ladies battle to remain ahead
A five-game winning streak ended for the Lady Drifters from Colonial Beach last week; but their hopes of advancing to the Northern Neck District Tournament next week are still in their favor.
A double-double effort by Karley Inscoe helped lead Colonial Beach to a 64-40 win over Rappahannock scoring 19 points and collecting 13 rebounds. Selene Epps led Rappahannock with 12.
Colonial Beach’s Caneishia Fulcher added to the cause with 14 points and eights followed by Emily Parks with 11, Megan Seamen and Deniya Newman with six each, McKenzie Conway and Billie Gould with four each.
Rappahannock’s Kelsey Berhalter 11, Lasheonia Smith 10, Ashley Towles with three, Lexi Hanks and Cedara Ashton with two each.
Then in the 34-24 win over Colonial Beach, Lancaster’s Sharda Beane scored a team 11 points. Caneishia Fulcher, of Colonial Beach, scored seven points.
Lancaster’s Shamerah Taylor added to the score with nine points, followed by Trenae Henderson with eight, Aleyah Davenport with six and Aaliayah Morris-Lee with two.
Colonial Beach’s McKenzie Conway chipped in with six points, followed by Emily Parks with five, Megan Seamen and Deniya Newman with two and Billie Gould with one.
