Back in December, the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors had voted to approve an upgrade of the county’s public safety radio communications system using a loan from Bank of America. However, a snag was hit, courtesy of a particular tower site at Washington District Elementary. The county owned the tower, but not the land it was on, which was owned by the Westmoreland County School Board. At the Board of Supervisors meeting earlier this month, Russ Culver and Larry Roberson led a unanimous motion to request that the School Board consider transferring ownership of the parcel of land. Dr. Perry presented the situation before the rest of the board.
