Colonial Beach Elementary School has been blessed with a music teacher who truly loves to teach and connects with his students in a remarkable way. Benjamin Lowell teaches music from pre-kindergarten through seventh grade.

Swanson is the band teacher as well as the choral singing director. After school he teaches the Colonial Beach Elementary School choir which consists of students who work with him year-round on learning music in a more in-depth manner.

On top of that, Swanson is also the Director of the Connexion Chamber Choir and his church’s choir. His dedication is obvious in the time he puts in with each group.

On May 1 the Pre-kindergarten, 2nd, 4th grades, the band, and the elementary school choir put on a lovely performance for a standing room only crowd.

Songs ranged from traditional band music such as “Chorales” by Quincy Hilliard to “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars sung by the Children’s choir.
