Colonial Beach improved their record to 2-2 after a road victory over King & Queen 41-6 last Friday.
On Sept. 21, Dez’John Parker and Shamar Shanks each scored two touchdowns in the win over the Royal Tigers.
Shanks had two receptions for 87 yards, both for touchdowns, and ran for 12 yards. Parker rushed four times for 22 yards.
Quarterback Nick Graves threw for a total of 135 yards on 5-9 passing attempts to go along with two touchdowns.
Graves connected once each with Sidney Horton for 28 yards and Carlos Bermudez for seven yards.
Dion Gonzalez was the team’s leading rusher with 11 for 80 yards to go along with a touchdown. He also had a reception for three yards.
Jaquan Lancaster followed with two rushes for 47 yards and a touchdown; Cameron Headley had five carries for 28 yards; Josh Thomas had two carries for 16 yards; Nick Graves had two carries for 11 yards; and Jacoby Smith had two rushes for nine yards.
“It was a team win,” said Colonial Beach Head Coach Scott Foster. “I think we’re battle tested definitely playing King George and Sussex back to back. I told the kids it doesn’t get any harder than that…we just got a good win against a scrappy King & Queen team. They don’t stop playing.”
Colonial Beach will host their final nonconference game against Mathews on Sept. 28 before the district season begins next weekend. Colonial Beach (2-2) will host Rappahannock (2-2) for their homecoming on Oct. 5. Both games begin at 7 p.m.
