At least one loss was shared among the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams from Colonial Beach after week two of the regular season.
In week one, the boys varsity team fell to AA schools Liberty 59-40 and King George 61-50, and won over Middlesex 69-61 to end the week.
In the win over Middlesex, Montie Gould 27 points and Keane Foster’s 14 led the team, They were followed by Shamar Shanks with eight, , Paris Muse with seven, Sidney Horton with four, Ethan Harvin 2, Kamron Smith with three, DezJohn Parker and Ethan Harvin each with two, and Devonte Harris and Michael McGorda each with a point.
In the loss to King George, Gould led the Drifters with 16 points. He was followed by Shanks with 10, Muse with seven, Harvin, Foster and Parker each with four, Horton with three and Harris with two.
Against Liberty, Gould scored nine followed by Horton and Muse each with eight. Shamar Shanks scored five, Foster and Thomas each chipped in with three, and McGorda and Harvin followed with two points each.
The boys’ JV team followed winning over Liberty 42-25 and Middlesex 43-38, but falling to King George 35-33.
Against Middlesex, Marquel Harris had 11 points followed by Mikey Mothershead with eight, Alonzo Turner with five, West Virgil with seven, Lamar Lucas with 10, and Darin Jones and Saki Lucas each with a point.
Lady Drifters go 2-1 in week two of season
In the win against Liberty, Caneisha Fulcher led the team with 12 points and Billie Gould followed with eight steals. McKenzie Conway had six points, followed by Karley Inscoe with five, Deniya Newman with six, Emily Parks with eight and Megan Seaman with seven.
Against Middlesex, Fulcher led the team with 20 points and eight rebounds followed by Inscoe with 10. Gould chipped in with seven, and Newman and Season with two.
In the loss to King George, Billie Gould led the varsity team with 21 rebounds and seven points. Caneisha Fulcher followed with 20 points, Karley Inscoe with 10, and Deniya Newman and Megan Seaman each with two.
The Girls’ JV Team ended the week with a 16-7 win over Middlesex after falling to King George 45-20 and Liberty 22-14 earlier in the week.
