The W&L Eagles varsity football team was on the road to play the Essex Trojans on Friday, November 4. The defense for both teams stepped up to start the game. The Trojans got a drive going late in the first quarter and ended with an Avante Banks four-yard touchdown run to make it (0-8) with the two-point conversion. The Eagles moved the ball, they just couldn’t get into the end zone. Ashton Ashlock connected with Avante Banks on 34-yard touchdown pass to make it (0-16) mid-way through the second quarter. The Eagles had a touchdown taken off the board because of a penalty, so the score was (0-16) at the half. The third quarter saw both teams move the ball but neither crossed the goal line in the twelve minutes.
