The W&L Eagles traveled to the Lancaster Red Devils on Friday, October 11 and clubbed them with 69 points. The Eagles offense was scoring at will. This had to be one of the most lopsided games the Eagles have ever had. This was a stat padder if the coaching staff wanted to use it that way. Head Coach Joe Taylor had to pull his main players to keep the score under 100 with a running clock in the second half. To give his starting players a rest, the coaching staff called up some of the JV players so they could get some experience. James ‘LJ’ Kelly Jr started the scoring with a 37-yard run to make it (6-0). Craig Shepherd followed with a 73 yd punt return (12-0), ‘LJ’ Kelly scored again from two yards out to make it (18-0), Jordan Saunders had a 28 yd run and the score was (24-0), Shane McNeill caught a 19yd touchdown pass from Dwayne Reynolds to make it (32-0), then Paul Quinn IV scored to make it (38-0) in the first quarter. The Eagles continued to score in the second with a 5yd run by Paul Quinn to make it (46-0), Dillon Miner a 15yd touchdown run made it (52-0), and a Jeremiah Redmond pick six from 45yds out to go up (60-0) at the half. Elijah Upson capped the scoring with a 52yd run and made the final (68-0). The Eagles defense held the Red Devils to 65 total yards and five first downs. Jordan Saunders, Kentay Jones, and Elijah Upson led the team in tackles. ‘LJ’ Kelly had 77 rush yards, Elijah Upson 68yds, Jeremiah Redmond 43yds, Jordan Saunders 38yds, Z Sutton 18yds, Dillion Miner 14yds, Paul Quinn IV 13yds. W&L will play Northumberland at home on Friday, October 18.
