The upcoming first week of July is promising to look particularly raucous. Not only will the numerous Fourth of July celebrations be taking place at various locations around the county, but Montross has its First Friday celebrations the day after. Rounding the celebrations out is Thunderground, a car-focused music fest at the Colonial Beach Drag Strip.
Fireworks and fun are the name of the game on the 4th, from King George to Colonial Beach and beyond. Stratford Hall, meanwhile, is having their annual Lees and Independence Family Fun Festival, a free to the public event from 9:30 in the morning to 5 in the evening, featuring scavenger hunts, colonial games, and plenty of other fun activities and tidbits of history.
