Flying to freedom

Posted on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 12:00 pm

After a month of recovery and rehabilitation, the eagle seen here was released back into the wild in front of a crowd of spectators at Stratford Hall. Karen Louvar was walking the property one day when she came across the injured bird. A conservation police officer was able to capture the bird and it was transferred to the Wildlife Center in Waynesboro. The female eagle had a low heart rate, bruising on her keel, and superficial abrasions on her feet. Photo by Angela Dawson, Milestones and Memories Photography.
