Games split in second week

The Washington & Lee Lady Eagles Volleyball Team split the week improving their record to 2-2 on the season. After a 3-0 win over the King & Queen Lady Tigers, the week ended with a 3-1 loss to Middlesex on the road.

On Sept. 3, Alexa Weeks and Victoria Minor led the team with 12 kills each in the win over King & Queen (25-11, 25-19 and 25-21). Weeks followed up her performance with six aces and Minor collected a team high nine digs. Jones contributed 25 assists to the win.

In the 3-1 loss to Middlesex (18-25, 25-20, 13-25 and 23-25), Minor led the team with eight kills followed by Savannah Seager and Weeks with four each.

Ashley McGill and Seager each had three service aces on the night, McGill contributed two blocks and Minor chipped in with eight digs to lead the team. Jones had 14 assists for the Eagles.

The Eagles were scheduled to host King William on Sept. 10. Later in the week  the Lady Eagles will host the Rappahannock County Panthers on Sept. 13. JV at 6 p.m. followed by the Varsity game at 7 p.m.

On Sept. 17, the Lady Eagles will travel to King William. JV at 6 p.m. followed by the Varsity game at 7 p.m.
