On Feb. 14, Carrot Cottage and Eagle’s Catch Antiques will have special holiday sales, vintage Valentines, door prizes, cherry delicacies and refreshments. On Sat., Feb. 15, the shop will host a “Nature’s Poetry” art exhibit and reception with artwork by Sally Lewis. Lewis herself will be at the reception. Lewis is a Virginia born artist and lived in Montross from 1973-1982, where she taught art and enjoyed the natural beauty of the river and woods. Nature inspires her paintings and so she has developed her style all about nature, including using natural materials and all recycled materials for her works of art.  The reception from 1-4 p.m. will feature her original oil paintings. The exhibit will also be on display Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The shop will also serve as a gateway to “Wine and Cherries Weekend” from Feb. 14-17. Local wineries including Athena, Belle Mount, Dog & Oyster, General’s Ridge, Ingleside, Good Luck Cellars and Jacey and Oak Crest will be participating in and celebrating the Wine and Cherries Weekend with cheery treats to pair with their outstanding wines.
