The Eagles are weeks before the season, but Jones says all the players will be key to moving forward with the program.
“They have to understand how important they all will be to our success,” Jones said. “It’s going to take them all and they need to understand that.”
Jones spent the last four seasons at his alma mater Pulaski ending his tenure at 16-28.
He is known locally for his time at Essex for 16 seasons. He was the head coach for 14 seasons where he led the Trojans to being named the 2003 Group A Division II state runner up to Gate City, 40-15, and then to the Group A Division II state championship in 2009. Essex went on to win the championship against Radford, 30-0.
