The Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office has restored its K-9 program and it will be fully operational this fall. Although this initiative is not new for the sheriff’s office, it is a first in utilizing the dual purpose K-9 which works both narcotics and patrol. Capabilities include narcotics detection/seizure, tracking, locating lost and missing persons as well as performing searches.
As with any program, there are costs associated in facilitating the operation. Anyone who wishes to make a monetary donation to the sheriff’s office K-9 program can do so by contacting Captain Chris Hawkins at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (804) 493-3524.
Deputy Allison A. Nowacki and K-9 Deputy, Stitch are ready for the K-9 program.
