Kinsale Day on the way

On Saturday, September 16, neighbors and friends from all over are invited to enjoy fun and fellowship during the community’s celebration of a landmark anniversary: the 40th annual Kinsale Day. Activities begin at 10 a.m. in the Park, Museum and Ice Cream Parlor.

This is, of course, dependent upon the weather. Keep your positive thoughts focused on the situation and even hopefully some sun. On the darker side… If it is just rainy with no associated high winds, we hope the firemen may invite us inside the firehouse. But if storms Irma or Jose come right over us or close by, causing damage and power outages or worse, the firemen would be in emergency mode – in which case they will be exhausted and will be using the firehouse and we will have to postpone.

We would LOVE to see a great turnout of Kinsale friends — including our valiant Kinsale Fdn. Board Members whose service in gathering history and promoting of a strong sense of community has been so important over the years.
Edna Douglas, 95, and Walter Norris, 66, (our two surviving founding Board Members) will share some recollections.

We encourage everybody to go through your treasures and bring in your photos and other mementos of Kinsale’s past, and of community events in bygone days — before and during this event.
You can scan and email pictures to museumdirector@gmail.com, or drop by the Museum on Fridays and Saturdays year round from 10-5 with pictures and memorabilia. Or bring interesting things to Kinsale Day.
