Lady Drifters capture district win over Eagles

The Colonial Beach Varsity Softball earned their first district win after defeating Washington & Lee Eagles 6-3.

Colonial Beach was led by Deniya Newman going 1-4 from the plate with a homerun, scoring a run and an rbi. Newman was followed by Emily Parks going 2-3 from the plate with a run scored and an rbi, McKenzie Conway going 1-3 with two runs scored and a double; and Taylor Lee and Billie Gould each going 2-3. Gould also recorded an rbi.

Tori Swann led the W&L offense going 3-4 from the plate with a triple. She was followed by Zoe Davis going 2-3 with a run scored, Katie Johnson, Victoria Minor, Erin Doerr, Kendall Headley and Veronica Wyszynski each having a single. Headley also recorded an rbi.
