Lady Eagles holdoff Lady Drifters

The W&L Lady Eagles hosted and won against the Colonial Beach Lady Drifters on Tuesday January 30. The Lady Eagles took control of the game early with an (18- 8) lead at the end of the first period. The Lady Drifters cut the lead by two points by the end of the second (27- 19). The home team got back their double-digit lead in the third quarter (41-28). Foul trouble by the home team and on-point shooting put the Lady Drifters back in the game, as they scored twenty-two points to make it a (53-50) Lady Eagles victory. Taliyah Ball had 16pts, DeVonna Fisher 11pts, Makaila Veney 10pts, Kennise Gray 10pts, Whitney Wade 5pts, and Megan Smith 1pt. The W&L Lady Eagles went the road to play the Essex Lady Trojans on Thursday February 1. The teams were tied (7-7) with 3:37 left in the first period then the Lady Eagles went on a (7-2) run to lead (14-9) at the end of the first. They led by as much as thirteen (24-11) with 2:14 left in the first half.
