The W&L Lady Eagles varsity volleyball team dropped two home matches on Tuesday, September 5, and Friday, September 7, to the Spotsylvania Lady Knights and the Windsor Lady Dukes (0-3). In the early season, the Lady Eagles were beginning to jell and communicate so they would cover all areas of the court. During their warm-up for the match against the Lady Knights two of the Lady Eagles were injured within thirty seconds of each other. Reserved right-side hitter Devonna Fisher tripped over a teammate while working on dig drills then middle hitter Makaila Veney stepped on a teammates foot while doing a hitting and blocking drill. Head Coach Drew Hutt said, “Makaila Veney had been playing extremely well and Devonna Fisher would have been her replacement injuries had us shifting players around.”
Zierra Sutton passes the ball to the setter.
