Latest buzz of beach town keeps on brewing

With their soft opening behind them and a better grasp of how popular Colonial Beach Brewing would be, owners, Ted Saffos and Mark Turner, celebrated their grand opening at noon on July 4.
Mayor of Colonial Beach, Eddie Blunt, and president of the Chamber of Commerce, Cary Geddes, welcomed the business to the town and helped cut the ribbon across the front of the store as a crowd gathered to celebrate.
Only the second brewery in Westmoreland County, and the Northern Neck, CB Brewing has been doing a booming business during its soft opening phase.
People from not only the town and county, but all over have come to visit the brewery and partake of one of their local brewed beers.
The brewery opens from Thursday to Sunday every week with several different beers on tap. They are presently working on a beer that will all local ingredients for the future.
In fact on August 3, the brewery will be having a fresh hop celebration. On July 23rd they will be brewing all day and into the night from fresh, wet hops that are grown locally by Northern Neck Hops. The batches of beer will be ready by the third for the Thursday night celebration.
