Christmas lights sparkled from all around town as people sifted in and out of local stores and restaurants enjoying the festivities that Spirit Fest in Montross had to offer. Many of Montross’ citizens braved the cold and enjoyed the food, sights, and music that accompanied this kick-off to Christmas. There was Christmas cookie decorating, hot cocoa, and of course, Santa Claus himself, making this Spirit Fest one to remember.
Many of the local businesses and stores had open houses and free hot chocolate and cookies. When the evening came around the Montross County Library had story time, where children gathered into the library as they were read Christmas stories. Santa made his first appearance in town at People’s Community Bank where children were able to sit with Santa and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. At the Montross Soda Shoppe, Andrew Rander presented a small piece of his large train collection in a magical train display. After exploring the different festive options, the town gathered at the Courtyard to watch the tree lighting.
