Members of the Northern Neck Region, AACA gathered recently for their annual dinner and to officially install the 2013 officers and board members. The guest speaker this year was Ned Walter accompanied by his wife Joanna from Champlain. Walter is a former auto body stylist with the General Motors Cadillac Division spanning several decades starting in the 1940s under the legendary Harley Earl, the famous head of GM Design Studio. Walter provided many fascinating stories such as how they used wooden design bucks with clay to create the cars, as well as how they covered the studio windows to prevent designs from being stolen by the competition. Over 30 members of the club were treated to a delicious dinner provided by Barbara Saunders and the ladies of the Nomini Baptist Church in Montross. Awards were also presented to Paul Stosch and Peyton & Mae Lynne Guest for outstanding membership and contributions to the club.
The antique car club, affiliated with the international Antique Automobile Club of America, includes members from the greater Northern Neck area and meets at the Callao Business Center the second Thursday each month.
