Clark Caldwell Eversole

Clark Caldwell Eversole, 81, of Hague, passed away on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at his home following a lengthy illness. Born in Richmond, Ky. On May 26, 1929, he graduated from Lynchburg College and the University of Virginia. He served in the United States Air Force and was an educator for the Commonwealth of Virginia for 35 years, including 28 years as an elementary school principal for the city of Hampton. Mr. Eversole was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Northern Neck Christian Men's Club.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Paige Eversole McMahon. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kim Coleman Eversole; two sons, Mark Coleman Eversole and his wife, Eliza, of Williamsburg and Rev. Paul Madison Eversole, of Spotsylvania; two grandchildren, Laura Tinsley Eversole of Alexandria and Matthew Adams Eversole of Williamsburg.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, Aug. 30 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Hague, followed by interment with graveside service at St. Paul Cemetery. Julian H. Griffith Jr.

Julian H. Griffith Jr., 92, of King George County died Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Griffith was born May 18, 1918 in Fredericksburg to Julian Hungerford Griffith Sr. and Cornelia Flemer Griffith.

Mr. Griffith retired from civilian employment at the Dahlgren Navy base andenjoyed many years of gardening, always looking forward to planting time in the spring. He enjoyed sharing vegetables from the garden with his friends and family.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Margaret Allensworth Griffith; his son, Frank Wayne Griffith and wife, Susan, of Chesterfield; his daughters, Judith Griffith Crockett, of Bristol and Jacqueline Gay Baker and husband, Vernon, of King George; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and one brother, Edward Colville Griffith and wife, Margaret Ann, of Fredericksburg.

Funeral services were held Augusts 28 at Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, Oak Grove, where Julian was christened and had been a faithful and active member for many years. Interment was private. Elloweene Jones

Elloweene Jones, 78, of Frederick, Md., formerly of Hague, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010. She was the widow of Irving Tucker Jones and a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Linden Jones (Dianna) of Frederick, Md. and David Lee Jones (Debbie) of Odenton, Md.; sisters, Robena Rushing of Norman, Okla. And Georgia Birdsall of Silver Springs, Md, and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Md. with Pastor Wade Wilkins officiating. Online condolences at www.welchfuneralhomeva.com.

Benjamin Tyler Kyff

Benjamin Tyler Kyff, age 21, of Culpeper passed away at his residence on August 21, 2010.

He enjoyed participating in Civil War Re-enactments, where he rode his horse "Peppi" in a Calvary Unit. He had a love of animals and volunteered at a young age at Caring for Creatures. He graduated from Culpeper County High School in June 2008 and was employed at Five Guys restaurant in Culpeper.

He is survived by his father, John L. Kyff, III of Culpeper, his mother, Meri Hockett Rosser and step-father, Mike Rosser of Callao, VA; grandparents, John and Elke Kyff, Jr. of Culpeper and Hencil and Elaine Hockett, of Boston, VA; three uncles, Eric Kyff of Culpeper, Gary Hockett of Hawaii and Barry Hockett of Centreville; and one aunt, Terri Hockett of Florida.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Susan Johnson Streets Roberts

Susan Johnson Streets Roberts died Saturday, August 21, 2010.

She was born September 17, 1926, to Dennis and Ida Johnson in Oak Grove.

Susan graduated in 1944 from A. T. Johnson High School. Her marriage to Theodore Streets Sr. ended in divorce. She later married Milton Roberts, who predeceased her.

Susan was employed for several years at the General Accounting Office and later at the Department of Labor, retiring in 1982 with 34 years of faithful government service.

She returned to Virginia in 1983 and reunited with Little Zion Baptist Church where she served faithfully.

Susan loved volunteer work and served her community in many ways. She was named as a special role model in the Westmoreland News in 1996.

Surviving are her sons, Theodore Streets Jr. (Cheryl) and Ronald Streets Sr. of Washington, D. C.; two sisters, Inita Baylor and Rosie Vaughan (James), all of King George; two brothers, David Johnson (Nancy) of King George and Lawrence Johnson (Diane) of Washington, D. C.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held August 27 at Little Zion Baptist Church, Oak Grove. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Rubynette Campbell Sanford

Rubynette Campbell Sanford, 86, of Montross, widow of Milton Sanford, died Monday, August 23, 2010. She was a retired stenographer for the Cooperative Extension Service and a member of Currioman Baptist Church where she served as clerk for 45 years, church historian, Sunday School teacher and on various other committees.

Mrs. Sanford is survived by a son, Frankie Sanford (Patsy) of Bracey, Va.; three brothers, Preston Campbell (Yvonne) of Ocean City, Md., Wallace Campbell (Barbara) of Southern Md. and Gilbert Campbell (Shirley) of Daytona Beach, Fla.; granddaughter, Sheila Sanford (Douglas); two great-grandchildren, Leah Hall (Justin) and Brandee Jones (Jeff); four great-great-grandchildren, Blake Hall, Tarryn Hall, Carter Hall and Jackson Jones, and close friend and sister-in-law, Ruby Campbell.

Funeral services were held August 25, at Currioman Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Hawks and Pastor V. Wade Wilkins officiating. Interment was in Currioman cemetery. Pallbearers were Woody Campbell, Michael Campbell, Leonard Bell, Joey King, Justin Hall and Jeffrey Jones. Robert Kameo Yoshida

Robert Kameo Yoshida, 80, of Warsaw, died Monday, August 23, 2010. Mr. Yoshida was retired civil servant for the U.S. Government, a member of American Legion Post 252, a Navy Veteran and the husband of Juanita Marie Yoshida.

Other than his wife he is survived by a son, Ricky Yoshida and his wife, Stephanie, of Montross; three daughters, Cameo Anderson and her husband, Don, of Falls Church, Suzanne Meadows and husband, Rob, of Falls Church, and Tammy Whelden of Arlington; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kameo Yoshida II.
