Lititia Ware “MaTish” Riddick passed away July 29, 2014 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in King George. She was born May 3, 1918 to Daniel and Annie Ware.
Lititia was educated in Westmoreland County Public Schools and joined Little Zion Baptist Church at an early age.
Lititia and her second husband managed a dance hall, baseball team, motorcycle race track and food establishment. She was famous for her fried chicken, crab cakes and ham sandwiches.
Predeceased by her parents; her first husband, John Posey; her second husband, Hilton Riddick and her son, Joseph Posey; MaTish is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Tate (Wilbert); granddaughter, Byrdell Long (Aaron); four grandsons; one sister; 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held August 2 at Little Zion Baptist Church, Oak Grove. Rev. Earl T. Howerton officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Isabel “Peggy” Evans, 92, of Montross died Monday, July 28, 2014 in Waldorf, MD.
She was born March 8, 1922 in Glen Dale, CA to the late Nye E. Emmons and Isabel W. Emmons. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Woodland R. Evans; sons, William N. Evans and Ronald J. Evans; daughters, Lucille M. Smith and Margaret A. Lindamood and three brothers.
She is survived by her son, Robert W. Evans; sisters, Mary Anna Bucci and Hazel Daniels; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Peggy enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles. Her family was very important to her; she loved them very much.
The family received friends August 2, 2014 with funeral service immediately following at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home LaPLata, MD. Interment was at Trinity Memorial Gardens Waldorf, MD.

Pallbearers were Donnie Smith, Doug Randall, Jimmy Willet III, Bill Evans, Christopher Smith, Allen Rouse and Archie Verdiglione.

William Franklin Meeks (Peanut), 47, of Front Royal, VA passed away at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Winchester, VA on Tues. July 15, 2014 after battling cancer.
He is survived by his mother, Annie Ruth Summerlin Ulfig of Warsaw, VA, his stepfather, Ed Ulfig of Montross, VA, his daughter, Brittany Meeks of Montross, brothers Henry Graham Meeks Jr. and wife Debbie of Ohio and Jay Lee Eubanks of FL and a sister, Eunice Diana Davis of Warsaw, VA. He is also survived by nieces Michaela and Shelby Meeks of NC and nephews Kai Meeks of NC and Wayne Davis of Warsaw, VA.
He was born on Oct. 17, 1966.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Meeks, his father, Henry Meeks Sr., and his grandparents.
A graveside service will be held on Sat. Aug. 9 , 4 p.m. at 63 St. James Lane and South Tidwells Rd. in Montross.
