Jon M. Frazier, 75, of Montross passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.
He was born in Charleston, Ill. On Oct. 9, 1937 to Paul and Mabel Frazier. After his formal education he graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. with a PhD in Psychology. He was retired as a psychologist for the Northern Neck Regional Special Education Program and was a member of Montross Moose Lodge #2333.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela A. Hoppensteadt and her husband, Randy, of Schaumburg, Ill. and two grandchildren, Alyssa Hoppensteadt and Zachery Hoppensteadt.

Joseph J. Pitts
Joseph Julius Pitts, 92, of Temple Hills, Md., husband of Louise Pitts, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013.
He was a retired bus driver for DC Transit, a member of Ephesus Christian Church and a WWII Army veteran. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 10 at the Welch Funeral Home, Montross Chapel with Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Interment was in Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery. Pallbearers were Craig Dickerson, Tod Dickerson, Stuart Stevens, Emmitt T. Pitts Jr., Kenny Pitts and Eric Dickerson.

Kelly David Walker, 41, of Colonial Beach passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at home.
Kelly was born April 1, 1971, in Portland, Ore. He retired after 20 years with the U.S. Navy and had been working with the U.S. Navy as an emergency dispatch operator. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Colonial Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Walker of the home; a son, Kyle Walker of Colonial Beach; a daughter, Lauryl Ault of Washougal, Wash.; father Ron Walker of Aurora, Ore.; three brothers, Kris and Justin Walker, both of Aurora, and Jeremy Walker of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; aunt, Diane Abney of Waldport, Ore.; three uncles, Greg Abney of Waldport and John and Scott Black of The Dalles, Ore.; three nieces, Nicole and Natalie Walker of Thousand Oaks and Lydeel Cardenas of Colonial Beach; nephew, Kristopher of Vancouver, Wash.; cousins, Michael and Rhonda Alioth of Gresham, Ore., and Jayson Alioth of Hillsboro, Ore.; and longtime family friends John and Suzanne Festa of Winchester and Mike Legler of Colonial Beach.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly; mother Jean Walker; and grandmother Geraldine Black.
The family received friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 11, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. officiated by the Rev. Richard Headley.
Inurnment will take place at National Cemetery in Southern California at a later date.

Robert “Bob” Zell, 58, of Montross, died March 1, 2013, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C.
He loved his family, fishing, wood working and playing cards. Born April 11, 1954, in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late Marian and Enoch Zell. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, James Zell and Danny Zell; sister, Carolyn Zell, and brother-in-law, Gene Heiston.
He is survived by his two sons Bob Zell (Ashtan) and Daniel Sivak (Andreale) and two daughters, Jessica Zell (Dontay) and Sheri Zell (Rich); sisters, Mary Davis (Bill) and Judy Heiston and six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 12 noon on March 16 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Colonial Beach.
