It was a lengthy presentation that the School Board’s Career and Technical Education Director had to give before the board last week, but Justin Savoy had a lot of information to relay. Topics ranged from new and current courses, as well as the new partnerships that have been struck up, or were in the process of being constructed to better help get students ready for their life after graduation.
One course, for example, is Culinary II will be available next year, and has much more of a management focus, having the students manage the two lower classes, as well as being the ones in charge during events. Furthermore, this can work towards ServeSafe Certification, a credential within the food service industry which restaurant managers are required to have.
