This weekend, the whereabouts of a man from Chesterfield were found out when local hunter, Douglas Rotenizer, called the cops to report a car thought to have been stolen. It wasn’t much longer before the body of Abdel-Rahim Hamden, 78, of Chesterfield County was found. He had been last seen around Tappahannock on Halloween, having been reported missing by his family after he did not return.

Rotenizer was out for the first day of Black Powder hunting season, and noticed the parked SUV. He called the cops once he was finished hunting, and that in turn led to the discovery of Hamden’s body that morning. The plates on the car were run, which came back to Hamden as well. The body has since been taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office. At the time of this writing, foul play is not suspected, and the investigation continues.
