The “Ruth Greene Award for Service” was presented in recognition of the numerous hours invested by the Little Zion Baptist Church’s Prison Ministry Team in its performance of Behind-the-Wall Ministry in the Northern Neck Regional Jail religious programs.
The “Ruth Greene Award for Service” was first instituted by the Northern Neck Regional Jail in 2017 and named in honor of it’s first recipient, Rappahannock Community College Professor, Ruth Greene.
Minister Johnson says she is highly appreciative of the Award but recognizes that God deserves the glory!
She says, her greatest reward is seeing the positive change that the Word of God makes in the lives of men and women, enabling them to become productive Returning Citizens, making positive contributions to society. She added that she considers this a ministry team award, as the Little Zion Baptist Church Prison Ministry works as a TEAM (Together Each Accomplishing More).
Minister Johnson is an Associate Minister and Servant Leader of the Little Zion Baptist Church’s Prison Ministry, serving under leadership of Rev. Earl T. Howerton, Jr., Pastor.
