The Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office and 12 local children enjoyed an adventurous shopping spree. The second annual “Shop With the Sheriff” took place on Tuesday evening, December 11 at the King George Walmart Supercenter.
Each child was paired with a member of the Sheriff’s Office and the shopping was underway. Items purchased included a wide variety of clothing and toys. The Walmart Foundation provided the monetary donation to make the purchases and Subway donated dinner to the kids during the event. In addition, Pastor Donn R. Hall and the members from Zion Baptist Church in Kinsale provided each child with a brand new bicycle. Their contributions and support is deeply appreciated and greatly aided in making this special occasion possible.
“Having the opportunity to see the facial expressions on the kids and interacting with them was an incredible experience,” stated Westmoreland Sheriff C.O. Balderson. “ A moment in time that you will never forget while also making a positive difference in a child’s life.”
