Sixteen charges pending

On Wednesday, January 9, at approximately 9:47 p.m., Deputy Brian L. Fogarty initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Rt. 202 and Route 604 in Westmoreland County. A vehicle pursuit ensued to the 5200 block of Nomini Hall Road where the subject fled on foot. Shamar D. Thompson, 21 years old of Hague, was subsequently arrested at a nearby location with the assistance of the Virginia State Police.

Thompson has been charged with traffic and felony criminal charges. He received no bond and has his first court appearance scheduled for January 15, in Westmoreland County General District Court.
