Colonial Beach Town Council’s July meeting came to a different conclusion than normal as for the first time in recent memory the council could not make a quorum. At least four council members must be in attendance for any official business to be conducted.
With no quorum Mayor Eddie Blunt instead opened the floor to questions from town citizens.
At the end of the meeting Blunt mentioned that it might be possible to hold a meeting like this again as it was well received. Public hearings that were scheduled for the evening will be held on August 21 at the regular meeting.
Susan Mack spoke of her concerns on the water increase saying, “I know it’s needed, I get it, but I just want to remind you that there are folks in the community that have been hit, and will be hit, with an increase in money.”
