It has been a very busy and eventful year for those involved with the planning and construction of the new Washington & Lee High School. There have been ups, downs, and plenty of pain, but with each week, and each appearance on a schedule, it gets that much closer to its ground breaking. Last week was no exception when the new high school’s special use permit and plan of development came before the Montross Town Council.
The council’s meeting started a half-hour earlier than usual to allow for Paul Klee and Scott Eschbach plenty of time to present them with how far they had come in the new school’s floor plan, as well as its outdoor area. The presentation was much like the update given at November’s School Board meeting, giving a very thorough picture of what was going to be built. The Montross Planning Commission had been presented the proposal, and sent a recommendation for approval to the Town Council.
