Trinidy Jackson spelling bee champ

It took 5 rounds before a winner was declared for the Westmoreland County Public Schools’ spelling bee district championship. At the end of the evening, eighth grader, Trinidy Jackson, from Montross Middle School, sealed her victory by spelling correctly the final word of the night, “pueblo.”  Ms. Jackson will now prepare for the regional contest in Fredericksburg. She is the daughter of Geri Hinton and Gary Jackson.

The Spelling Bee Participants were Cople Elementary; first grade, Brandon Wilson (alternate, Ja’Miesha Hall); second grade, Mark Gooch (alternate, Jayiah Howard), third grade, E’liyahu Jones (alternate, David Lane), fourth grade, Alexis Serrano-Dorantes (alternate, Layla Washington) and fifth grade, Kameron Garnett (alternate, Avianna Wright).
