The W&L Eagles varsity basketball team went on the road against the King William Cavaliers on Wednesday, January 30 and clawed out a victory. The Eagles got off to a slow start with only six points in the first period; a good thing for them the Cavaliers only put up ten (6-10). Some turnovers that led to easy buckets got them the lead and a twenty-five-point second quarter put the Eagles ahead (31-20) at the half. Their offense continued after the break and a (19-15) third period padded the lead to (50-35) with one quarter to go. The fourth stanza was similar to the previous eight minutes with the visitors out scoring the home team (16-14) and getting a (66-49) win. They had twenty assists on twenty-six made baskets. JJ McNeil messed around and had a triple double 23pts, 11reb, 10ast, John ‘JD’ Day Jr 22pts, 10reb, 5ast, 4stl, Kenneth Turner 8pts, 1stl, Shane McNeil 7pts, 5reb, 1blk, and Micaiah Coleman 6pts, 5reb.
