Every fall Washington & Lee High School presents a Fall Fine Arts Showcase. Featuring the art work of Ms. Holly Ransone’s art students and the music of the W&L Concert Choir and Concert Band, this year’s presentations exceeded expectations. The art exhibits set the tone with many interpretations of the fall theme. Pictures of haunted houses, dark clouds, fog shrouded scenes and portraits lined the long wall of the performance room. Their excellence in craftsmanship was evident in the majority of the work.
The W&L Concert Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Kelly Wright, opened the evening festivities with the beautiful spiritual,” Down to the River to Pray.” Other selections of the group included “Little Wheel a Turnin,” “Eatneman Vuelie,” (Song of the Earth), the theme from “Ghostbusters,” which featured several choir members, and the fun “Beyond the Sea.”
